What I wore through winter 2018.

Hey guys! I hope you are enjoying the chill in the air and the ultra cozy nights while it lasts. Aside from the weather, the only significant thing that the world can see are the number of weddings happening. Been to one myself. But gotta bid adieu to winter super soon. Summer 2019 will have a ton of things coming up too, I believe. But for me, the best part of 2018 was the Winter/ Fall outfits that looked so chic with the different prints, textures and the extra layers. Winter lets you pull out your favorite jackets, layer prints and colors, slip into socks and tred in boots. I had done a winter lookbook for 2017, do check it out. And this time, I am going to talk you through what I wore this winter.

Cover or shiver.

For places where winter is not actually chill all day, rather just a little cold in the night. This is a perfect fix. We all have been here and worn this casual outfit when you just add a layer to your trusty basics. But the extra element here was how to make it more 2018. Instead of going for a plain ass spaghetti, go for a lace slip that adds the attractive element to the outfit. Now for the shrug, you might own single color shrugs and might reach out for them. But to make it an actual winter outfit, what you need is a dark floral shrug/ coat. Winter embraces the most beautiful florals in such rich colors. You might also spot a jacket or a fur coat with such details, grab it because that’s going to be your ultimate winter saviour. I got my black shrug as well as the slip from forever21. I kept the black theme going with a pair of black block heels and a pair of blue jeans. The entire look is so simple, perfect for a day out as well as a night out.

Sweater weather is here.

When the winter ascends, the best piece to invest in is a beautiful sweater. But the way to work with it, is to get in a color that you love and still kind of falls in the neutral category. You can layer it on your shirt and add other layers on top of it if you’re from somewhere where the weather gets really cold. Otherwise a light sweater also does the work. Head out to your nearest Zara store to stock on some really beautiful braided sweaters or Max Fashion which also has some really good high neck pieces and a whole array of sweaters in all colors possible. High neck tops look extra chic and also are very practical for all seasons. I am wearing a beautiful tan coloured high neck sweater from Promod that is going to be my go to for this season and have paired it with a button down skirt and black booties. The perfect fall outfit I believe. You can go for a pair of trousers or jeans if your legs get really cold.

Chilled out class.

Blazers are the thing this season. With all the tech upgradation and androgyny kicking in, an oversized blazer is a must have for you girls. We all have a fitted blazer for our formal looks. But what you need is a trendy blazer. Oversized ones look ultra chic when belted up or worn as dresses. Blazers with the fall patterns like checks and houndstooth are such a perfect choice for you if you love playing with patterns. Bright blazers also work great in adding the pop of color and the needed cuteness to your winter outfits. I thrifted this blazer which is navy blue with stripes on it. Paired it with the classic blue jeans and a white t-shirt. An ultra casual look upgraded with the right amount of chic that the blazer adds to it while still fitting in for a day time look perfect for brunches.

Be a snow leopard.

If you were to ask me which is the biggest trend of fall 2018-19? The answer would be none other than Animal Print. When it initially step foot on the runway, I was pretty skeptical of its rise but lo and behold, it has risen like no other. Just peek into any of the fast fashion stores and the entire front aisle will look like a giant animal inspired art piece. Not my favourite print, but I still managed to pull out a couple of animal print pieces. I remember how cool it was when I was about 5 and how cringy it got as I got older. But see how fashion comes around? Reminiscence. I am wearing this beautiful leopard print dress in such warm hues. It looks like the perfect outfit for a girls night out. I paired it with a braided thin black belt to sinch the waist and wore a pair of black suede boots to bring in the winter vibe. What do you think about this trend and will you jump in the wagon or not? Tell me in the comments section below.

Dust away the snow.

Duster coats are such a vital piece for a winter wardrobe. The amount of warmth they give is incomparable to any other outerwear pieces. They almost cover most of your body. I got this one from stalkbuylove and I thoroughly enjoy it. Instead of plain colors, I went for a denim finish one. You can get your hands on shorter ones if its not that chill in your place. These are perfect to just put on any regular outfit while heading out of the home. I am wearing a very basic white shirt with blue denims and black stilettos. Just the perfect office look and added the coat to keep the cold away. For cooler places, this is a must but how you can play it cool is with proper layering and some fall colors.

I know I was pretty pretty late for this post. Have been going off track from blogging lately. But I will bounce back now. New post super soon. Until then xoxo. ❤
